MooGoo Cover-Up Buttercup SPF 15 Natural Moisturiser Review

I heard about MooGoo in a Curly Girl Facebook group, they recommended the Protein Shot. MooGoo doesn't have free shipping, so I thought I should get my money's worth and order a handful of products that I needed as I was trying to move away from personal products that had synthetic dyes and used phthalates in their fragrances. I honestly bought this thinking that it was a low SPF sunscreen, not that it was a lotion with sunscreen in it.

I am all for making large purchases once or twice a year. You can capitalize on discounts and reduce your carbon footprint. With only a few ingredients, it looked safe enough to use on my kids in case I didn't like it. On most of their products, MooGoo breaks down their ingredients one by one, which is nice, since you know what the purpose of each one is for. However, they do not do that on this product.

About MooGoo: On my page about MooGoo, you can read more about their company and read my product reviews. I have reviewed other companies and their products as well and you can find those on my complete list.

Ingredients
In my previous reviews of MooGoo, I mentioned that their ingredient list wasn't INCI compliant. Happily, this one is. They're using the correct names (as far as I can tell) and then they use the common name or explain it in parentheses, which is fantastic. They don't have any parfum / fragrance listed, nor do they use essential oils. They state that they used to use essential oils but stopped due to not everyone being able to use them. They do use comfrey root extract but I'm not sure if they're using it for it scent or its properties.

Smell and Texture
This smells like sunscreen. It reminds me of summer and the beach. Their SPF 30 sunscreen has  24.9% zinc oxide. This is SPF 15, but they do not state what percentage zinc oxide is used. This is white and thick. If you put it on and start to rub it in it takes a while. The best thing to do is wait a bit, like 10 seconds or so until your skin starts to warm up the lotion and then try to rub it in. Be careful that you don't stain your clothes with it. I usually use it on my daughter's eczema at night since zinc oxide is supposed to be good for eczema.

Size, Price, and Packaging
I got a 200 gr stand-up tube with a flip-top. My one complaint is that it doesn't snap close anymore. It stopped closing a long time ago. So that it doesn't dry out, I put tape around the flip-top.

You can buy it from Amazon or MooGooUSA. If it's your first time ordering from them, you can get $10 off your order of $40 or more by using the code MGRE-SHAR-DB2A27. You must create an account with them. If you don't create an account, the discount code will not be valid.

Would I Get This Again?
Yes, despite the fact that the cap broke. It is great for summer and it can help with eczema, so I feel like I got a 2-for-1 product. You can buy it from Amazon or MooGooUSA.
