My Thoughts on Better Shea Butter

It's hard to believe that Better Shea Butter is such a young company since they have such a large following. Started in 2013 by Isabella Duvall, they've already made a great name for themselves. With quality products, a small family-run company, and strong ethics, it's not hard to see why they're so popular.

Prices You Can Afford

Their prices are very affordable, especially when you consider the quality you're getting. In general, like with most places, when you buy more, you save. It's usually cheaper per ounce if you buy one pound than buy half a pound. They have sales and discount codes that you can find at the end of this post.

Quality Products

These products are absolutely fantastic. You can check out their Amazon reviews for their products such as their Unrefined Shea Butter. They've got a couple of options for shea butter: unrefined ivory shea butter, unrefined yellow shea butter, and bulk unrefined ivory shea butter. With over 6,000 overwhelmingly positive reviews, you should definitely check them out. Some of their products include oils, butters, dried flowers, powders, whipped body butter, African black soap, and beeswax.

Ethical Company

It's hard to believe that Better Shea Butter is such a young company since they have such a large following. Started in 2013 by Isabella Duvall, they've already made a great name for themselves. They are a family-owned, women-owned American business. They partner with Ghanaian women They state that they work with other ethically operated, organic co-ops and suppliers.

The only one thing I would question is whether their palm oil is sustainably harvested since they don't specifically say it is. They use palm oil in some of their products like their whipped shea body butter and African black soap. You can find out more info about it as well as how to use it (you're supposed to roll it into a ball first) on this page. I'm going to assume that it probably is due to how concerned with ethics they are.

Their products are vegan, never tested on animals, and they encourage recycling. Their packaging is plain without frills and their butters come in plastic lined brown paper bags.

They occasionally offer sales and deals throughout the year. The best thing to do would be to sign up for their newsletter to find out about them. They have a discount code of bettershea20 and you can use the code for a one-time 20% discount. Be sure to compare their prices on Amazon since shipping can get expensive through their website.
