Years ago I used to have very long hair and I would oil the ends of
my hair and give myself scalp massages with oil every day. About once a
week I would do hot oil treatments. Since then, I've learned that oils
don't work so well on my hair, however, I still use carrier oils in
order to dilute essential oils and to make my own body butter. Make sure
to follow proper dilution guidelines for essential oils. Click on the button that says "download dilution chart".
I love almond-scented products. I used sweet almond oil on my hair and was disappointed that it didn't smell like marzipan. This oil is just almond oil, however, from what I can tell, it's the same as sweet almond oil, not to be confused with bitter almond oil which is an essential oil.

The shelf life of almond oil is 6months to 1 year. I keep my oils in the fridge so that the temperature is constant and to make the shelf life towards the longer end of the spectrum (1 year), rather than the short (6 months).
Smell and Texture
I knew that almond oil does not smell like marzipan, but I'm still disappointed every time. It just has a slightly nutty-earthy oil smell to it. I think it has a similar texture as olive oil.

Ingredients
Unlike the Life-flo almond oil that I previously reviewed, NOW Foods only has almond oil as an ingredient and has not added Vitamin E.
This is expeller-pressed and hexane free. Hexane is a petroleum derived liquid which is used in a solvent in glue for things such as shoes. That sounds bad, so I'm glad this oil is free from it. Below you can find the fatty acid composition of almond oil.

Stats about Almond Oil
Almond oil has a comedogenic rating of 2 out of 5, meaning that it should not clog pores. Some people believe that comedogenic ratings don't mean much at all: Colin's Beauty Pages and Babe + Beauty. The shelf life of almond oil is 6months to 1 year. I keep my oils in the fridge so that the temperature is constant and to make the shelf life towards the longer end of the spectrum (1 year), rather than the short (6 months).
Uses
Almond is a very affordable carrier oil that can be used for many things. Some of its many uses include scalp massages, hot oil treatments, in body butters, and dilute essential oils.

Size, Price, and Packaging
I
bought the 4oz version and I think it's decently priced, but the 16oz would have been a better deal. I think if you're going to use it often and can use it before the shelf life (6 months - 1 year), you should go with the larger container. It comes in a
clear plastic bottle. I prefer dark, glass bottles, but it seems like
most average-priced non-exotic oils come like this.
Would I Get This Again?
No. There are a few issues that I have with this product. First, this is expeller-pressed and I prefer cold-pressed oils. This does not have Vitamin E, like the Life-flo one, so I believe that means the shelf life is even shorter. There's no info about whether it's refined or
unrefined. It's also not organic. I prefer oils in glass bottles, but I
know that's not always possible. That's not much of a deal breaker as
the first things I've mentioned. I know that many people have different
opinions than me. NOW Foods is a very reputable brand and their almond
oil gets great reviews. If you're

Patch test before using. Don't use if you have nut allergies.
