My Thoughts on Zakia's Morocco

I had heard how amazing argan oil was and that many products were using it as an ingredient. I thought it would be better to just buy the oil itself and try that. I found this on Amazon and didn't really know much about the company when I asked for it for a Christmas present.

Originally from Morocco, Zakia Haman founded the company in 2002. It's family-run and you can find their products in Morocco, France, Spain, Ukraine, Canada, and the USA. That seems like a lot, but sometimes there's only one stockist in each country.

Customer Service
I have not had any interactions with their customer service. They are not that active on social media (I checked out Facebook, Twitter, their blog, Pinterest, and Instagram). They may simply be because they are primarily relying on word-of-mouth since they are a small, family-run company and it can be hard to keep up with everything, but that's just my perception. However, it could also be that they do pretty well on Amazon and have realised that it's easier to just stick to that. Here is their Amazon store and you can click on the products to see the reviews.

They say that they firmly believe that no one provides better or more helpful service.

Products and Prices
They have a pretty limited selection. They have an argan oil collection, soaps, ghassoul clay, mositurisers, kessa exfoliation mitt, jewelry, and table art. I wish you could see all the products at once instead of clicking on every single section.  I think it's much easier to see all their products at their Amazon store.

The prices are pretty middle-of-the-road. They have a refer a friend page. Your friend gets 10% off and you'd get 15% off.  They also have a professional / wholesale page.

Ethics
Their company supports cultural and women's causes, such as Habitat for Humanity and Doctors without Borders.

Based out of Europe, they use Ecocertification and all her argan oil, shea butter, and ghassoul clay is sourced from Eco-certified manufacturers, however, they do not mention whether they themselves are certified. I know that sounds odd, but if you buy in bulk and then decant the oil to sell, some countries (like the USA, per the AMS regulations) might not allow you to call what you sell organic unless you hold an organic certification. Most of her stockist are in the USA.

It's a mainly women-owned company. They focus on environmental safety (such as protecting the Argan forest), health and wellness, and social benefits.
