Plant Therapy May Chang (Litsea) Essential Oil Review

This was one of the first oils I bought. I was told it was a citrus oil that smelled like lemon. Since all my daughter liked then was lemon, I wanted to get other oils in order to avoid sensitization.

Is Organic Better?
There seem to be different thoughts about it. I've put more info about it in this post. I've come to the conclusion that I will try to buy organic citrus oils, but will buy non-organic for other oils. There are exceptions and that is when they are not cold pressed. Plant Therapy does not have an organic May Chang, however, their product is steam distilled.

Smell, Use, and Viscosity
My daughter smelled this and went, "mmm lemon." That's not what I thought of when I smelled it. It smells a bit like lemon to me. I also smell a bit of a green scent, kind of like lemongrass. It also smells a bit like a tangerine or bitter orange to me with a bit of a lemony kick to it. It actually smells a bit like Lemon Heads to me. It's supposed to be bright, lemony, and energizing. It doesn't smell bright or energizing to me. It seems more relaxing, lazy end-of-summer days.

It's said to help with physical and mental well-being. It's good for its anti-fungal and anti-Candida properties and can help with muscle pain and skin problems.

It's pretty thin so be careful not to get more drops out than you planned on using.

Size, Price, and Packaging
I got a 10ml bottle and it is priced pretty fairly. The packaging is standard. It comes with an orifice reducer or Euro dropper. The oil is thin so it can come out quickly, but the orifice isn't too large that the oil just runs out. Use this link to get $10 off! If you'd like to try it you can buy it here.

Would I Get This Again?
I'm not really sure if I would buy it again. I wouldn't buy it for myself. If my daughter decides that she really likes it, then I'd get it again.

Random Thoughts
May Chang is also known as Litsea.

Safety
The shelf life is about 2-3 years. I keep all mine in the fridge. It's a thin oil so be careful about having too many drops come out.
