Plant Therapy Lime Steam Distilled Essential Oil Review

My daughter had fallen in love with lemon essential oil from an MLM. All she wanted was lemon. To avoid sensitization, I knew I had to pick another oil to diffuse. While they smell differently and are used for different things, they're both citrus and I was hoping that she would like it. Plant Therapy has two limes: steam distilled and cold-pressed. The former is from their KidSafe line, so I got that one. I've been told that cold-pressed often has a stronger aroma and sharper.

About Plant Therapy: On my page about Plant Therapy, you can read more about their company and read my product reviews. I have reviewed other companies and their products as well and you can find those on my complete list.

Like Edens Garden's OK for Kids, Plant Therapy has a line for kids. This product is a part of this line meant for kids aged 2 and up. You can buy it here or from Plant Therapy and get $10 off.

Below you can find more information about the essential oil itself. I have not smelled the regular lime oil, so I don't know how it compares. I have heard that the steam-distilled one is not as strong as the regular one.

They also have some information about what steam-distilled lime would blend well with if you'd like to try to make your own diffuser blends or master blends.

Smell, Use, and Viscosity
It smells like fresh lime to me. It's crisp but not as sharp as the organic lemon I reviewed before. I think that steam distilling an oil will do that. I would love to try their cold-pressed one. To me, citruses are usually bright and happy and this is no exception.

They also say that lime is good in bath and body products, and especially good for oily skin. It can help start the day as well as clear and energize your mind. Since this is steam distilled, it's not phototoxic.

It's a thin oil so be careful not to use more than you intend to.

Size, Price, and Packaging
I got a 10ml bottle and it is priced pretty fairly. You can buy it here or from Plant Therapy and get $10 off. The packaging is standard. It comes with an orifice reducer or Euro dropper. The oil is thin so it can come out quickly, but the orifice isn't too large that the oil just runs out.

Would I Get This Again?
Yes, I would get this again. The only thing I would change is possibly getting a larger size and decanting it into smaller bottles. As I mentioned before, I would like to try their cold-pressed one (but I would like for it to be organic!) and compare how they smelled. You can buy it here or from Plant Therapy and get $10 off.

Safety
Citrus oils usually last for about a year or so. I keep all mine in the fridge to help extend their shelf-life.

If pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor's care, please contact your caregiver first. Do not use internally unless directed by a licensed aromatherapist or physician.
