Oilogic Slumber & Sleep Essential Oil Lavender Blend Roll-on Review

I was looking for a way to get my daughter to sleep because she was suffering from colic. She would cry so much and then projectile vomit. My husband picked this up at our local store. I had started getting into essential oils and he said it was some weird, hippy thing that I would probably like, so he bought it. He bought it a few weeks after she was born. Some of Oilogic's products are safe for babies 3 months and up, but this one shouldn't be used until the baby is 6 months old.

About Oilogic: On my page about Oilogic, you can read more about their company and read my product reviews. I have reviewed other companies and their products as well and you can find those on my complete list.

Freebie: I got this for free. My husband bought it.

Ingredients
The ingredient list is pretty simple. It has carrier oils, essential oils, and Vitamin E. There is no information about the ingredients being organic. However, it is vegan and cruelty-free.

Smell and Texture
First of all, let me just say that this is diluted to be used on babies 6 months and up, therefore, the essential oils are more diluted than what a product for an adult would have. Secondly, I absolutely despise lavender. I hate it. It reminds me of old ladies. Happily, since this was so diluted, I could barely smell it, which is great since we co-sleep.

The essential oils used are floral and citrus ones. Castor and jojoba oils are used as carrier oils. Vitamin E is not a preservative, but is used to extend the shelf life. In general, citrus oils last about a year if stored properly. You should keep this is a cool, dark place.

Size, Price, and Packaging
I've mentioned before that roll-ons tend to be the same price as the same amount of undiluted essential oil. However, you don't need to buy the oil, carrier oil, and roller bottles.

It is only 10 ml, but a little goes a long way. I would recommend not using this daily since sensitization can happen if you do.

The packaging is a roller-ball with a metal ball. Roller balls can be plastic, metal, glass, and crystal. Plastic is not that best option.

I have a number of products that come in glass. My daughter got a hold of this and threw it to the floor and shattered it. Whether she is just strong or it was weak from being dropped too many times, I don't know. I've dropped a number of items and they haven't broken, but then again, I haven't thrown them against the floor. I know they make silicone sleeves for glass bottles. I wonder if I could somehow hack these toe sleeves and put them over my essential oil bottles and roller balls.

Would I Get This Again?
Maybe. I honestly didn't notice that much of a difference. Sometimes when I used it, she slept like a baby. Other times she would just scream and scream. I know that a lot of people swear by this and if you're interested, you can buy it here.
