Edens Garden Hope Synergy Blend Essential Oil Review

I was given this oil (along with a handful of other Edens Garden essential oils) by someone who was moving. Purple is my favorite color, so I was drawn to the bottle as well as the name. I don't think the color goes well with the name. When I think of hope, I think of oranges and yellows.

Smell, Use, and Viscosity
There are five ingredients in this blend: Spanish rosemary, tangerine, lemongrass, sweet orange, and cassia (cinnamon), I like all of them except for rosemary. I'm kind of on the fence for that one.

  1. There are three versions of rosemary: rosmarinus officinalis L. camphoriferum (commonly known as Spanish rosemary), rosmarinus officinalis L.cineoliferum (commonly known as Moroccan rosemary), and rosmarinus officinalis L. verbenoniferum (commonly known as rosemary verbenone). This blend uses Spanish rosemary and it is supposed to with muscle aches and breathing.
  2. I've never smelled tangerine before but I'm guessing I would like it because it's a citrus. It's said to help clear your mind and relieve your stress. It can boost your immune system and when applied topically, help an upset stomach.
  3. I like lemongrass more than lemon because regular lemon reminds me of cleaning sprays, but my daughter loves lemon. It's said to be refreshing and help get rid of smells. It can help your mood. Topically, it can increase your circulation.
  4. I can't really smell the sweet orange and that's a shame because it makes me feel happy and energized. It's said to help your mood and immune system.
  5. I can really smell the cassia in this blend and it reminds me of Christmas. It can help with depression and improve your mood. Topically, it's known as a warming oil, but be very, very careful with this because it can cause skin irritation.

It smells a bit green and herb-y to me probably due to the Spanish rosemary and lemongrass. It's supposed to help with trouble and heartache. It can bring inspiration that things get better and that life is an adventure. It is also said to remind us of the beauty of life, promote strength and comfort. They say it can help with grounding and confidence.

It's pretty thin so be careful not to use more than you planned on using.

Size, Price, and Packaging
I got a 10ml bottle and it is priced pretty fairly. Keep in mind that I got this for free from someone who is moving. The packaging is standard. It comes with an orifice reducer or Euro dropper. The oil is thin so it can come out quickly, but the orifice isn't too large that the oil just runs out. If you sign up on their website, you will automatically be enrolled in Aroma Notes, which is their loyalty program and can earn points towards future purchases.

One complaint I have about their packaging is that they don't have a label on the top of the oil. This means that you either have to buy their bottle cap stickers or make your own. They even say that it's frustrating to have to lift all the oils out and check the label on the side. I'm sorry, but I think this is slightly ridiculous. I know that $5 for stickers isn't that much, but if you only have a few oils it doesn't make sense, money-wise or material-wise. You'll just be throwing a lot of the stickers away, even though it's not that much, it's wasteful and think about how many other people do the same. I don't think it would cost them that much extra to stick a sticker on top. Plant Therapy's bottles all come with stickers and they have similar price points. I personally make my own stickers. They don't look pretty, but they do the job. Come on Edens Garden, help us out and just add a sticker on the top.

Would I Get This Again?
I would definitely buy this again. I love the smell of it, the history, and what it's used for. The only downside is that it's not safe for kids. Edens Garden does have a kids line called, OK for Kids. This oil is not a part of that line. You could try Bee Happy (they also have a roller ball version). Edens Garden offers FREE shipping on all orders. Be sure to sign up on their site since they have a rewards program called Aroma Notes. You can buy it here.
