Edens Garden Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil Review

I was given this oil (along with a handful of other Edens Garden essential oils) by someone who was moving. Cinnamon can be rather confusing since there are three different versions. Each of the three comes from a different part of the plant or even a different plant all together, can be used for different things, is said to smell differently, has different dilution guidelines, and is priced differently.

Product Details
You can buy it here. Like Plant Therapy (use this link to get $10), Edens Garden also has a kids line called, OK for Kids. This product is not part of this line. http://bit.ly/2K7wF1Z

I will be 100% completely honest with you, I've read and re-read information about it and I still have problems grasping the information completely. Plant Therapy has good info on their blog about The Great Cinnamon Debate. They also have a chart up in their group of Safe Essential Oil Recipes. They say that cinnamon leaf is good for skin support and inflammation, cinnamon bark is good for fungus, and cinnamon cassia is good for cleaning.

I consider myself to be an average essential oil user and mainly use essential oils for diffusion. I got this for free, I like the smell of it, so it works for me. If you'd like to buy other ones, Edens Garden has all three: cinnamon bark, cinnamon leaf, and cinnamon cassia. Cinnamon bark is a hot oil, so be very careful about using it topically as it can be a skin sensitizer. Make sure to follow proper dilution guidelines. I know that I lifted the top up to my nose to smell it and it touched my skin and did not feel good. It kind of burned and my skin tingled. It wasn't painful, but it was uncomfortable. Click on the button that says download dilution chart.

I don't like the fact that they use cooking as part of the description, as I'm afraid people might try to add the oil to food. If you're going to do that, make sure you are under the care of a clinical certified aromatherapist. Essential oils are potent.

Smell, Use, and Viscosity
It's said to be sweeter than cinnamon leaf. I like cinnamon, it reminds me of fall and winter and cozying up to a fire.

Plant Therapy says that it's good for fungus and Edens Garden says it can also be a good addition to homemade cleaners. It can help stimulate your appetite, so it wouldn't be good for people on a diet.

It's a thin oil so be careful not to use more than you intend to.

Size, Price, and Packaging
I got a 10ml bottle and it is priced pretty fairly. The packaging is standard. It comes with an orifice reducer or Euro dropper. The oil is thin so it can come out quickly, but the orifice isn't too large that the oil just runs out. If you sign up on their website, you will automatically be enrolled in Aroma Notes, which is their loyalty program and can earn points towards future purchases.

One complaint I have about their packaging is that they don't have a label on the top of the oil. This means that you either have to buy their bottle cap stickers or make your own. They even say that it's frustrating to have to lift all the oils out and check the label on the side. I'm sorry, but I think this is slightly ridiculous. I know that $5 for stickers isn't that much, but if you only have a few oils it doesn't make sense, money-wise or material-wise. You'll just be throwing a lot of the stickers away, even though it's not that much, it's wasteful and think about how many other people do the same. I don't think it would cost them that much extra to stick a sticker on top. Plant Therapy's bottles all come with stickers and they have similar price points. I personally make my own stickers. They don't look pretty, but they do the job. Come on Edens Garden, help us out and just add a sticker on the top.

Yes, I would get this again. This is not safe for kids. I have seen different information in regards to diffusion vs using topically. The best thing to do is to refer to a certified aromatherapist.
