I knew I wanted to switch from body wash to bar soap. It was more
environmentally friendly (body wash uses water, bar soaps mean less
packaging which means less waste, transport-related emissions since
there was less weight per product, etc), it's more moisturising, and no
preservatives are needed since no water is added were just a few of the
reasons why I switched.
I wanted to support a small company with a small product line. I also didn't want to end up a lot of money. I know there are companies out there that make gorgeous soap. They're breath-taking and they're expensive. They're just not for me right now on the budget I have. I was looking for something simple and affordable. I'm more attuned to the masculine way of thinking when it comes to somethings. I feel that women are all about something being pretty. Whereas I tend to think about function: does it work the way it's supposed to? It's soap. It's going in my shower. No one is really going to see it. Would it make me happy to see a pretty bar of soap when I open the shower door? Yes, of course. But I'd be even happier looking at an ugly bar of soap and more money in my bank account.

Their normal bar soaps are way more than what I was willing to pay. I really liked their ingredients, so I clicked on their name to find out more about them. I found out they had a product that was a one pound bag of fugly soap, a mixture of banged up bars, soap ends, and chucks. They said it was 100% natural and organic soap.
The soap doesn't look pretty and there isn't much smell to the soap. That's fine with me. I just wanted it to work. There are pieces of oatmeal in the soap. Hindsight is 20/20 and I think it might be an issue with clogging drains, so keep that in mind.
They came all together in a resealable plastic-lined paper bag. I like the fact that each soap didn't have packaging. I'm not too fond of the plastic though.
Right now, I'm not going to worry about it. I've got enough bar soap and body wash to last me at least 6 months, possibly more. When the time comes, I'll look into more options. If you happen to know of any good companies that sell affordable bar soap, please let me know in the comments.
Where to Buy It
You can buy it from Amazon. You can also see the other items Aspen Kay Naturals has for sale. Their website has 17 items: 8 bar soaps, 8 fugly soap bags, and a soap dish.

Aspen Kay Naturals' Oatmeal Milk and Honey Fugly Soap
While searching on Amazon I found oatmeal, milk, and honey bars by Aspen Kay Naturals. I read the reviews, starting with the negative ones, and then I ran them through FakeSpot and ReviewMeta and they both said the reviews were reliable.
Ingredients
Their oatmeal, milk, and honey soap is made from organic RSPO sustainable palm oil, organic shea nut butter, coconut oil, organic sunflower oil, organic castor oil, organic olive oil, organic oats, organic honey, goats milk, organic coco powder, fragrance (phthalate free), sodium hydroxide (key element to making soap, none remains in finished product). Organic is always nice and so is sustainable. I won't buy products with fragrance until it says phthlate free or essential oils. The soap doesn't look pretty and there isn't much smell to the soap. That's fine with me. I just wanted it to work. There are pieces of oatmeal in the soap. Hindsight is 20/20 and I think it might be an issue with clogging drains, so keep that in mind.

Price and Packaging
Their one pound bag of soap was a much better deal to me than their regular bar soap. Despite being soap ends, these are pretty decent. I got 6 bars in the bag. A couple of them were thin, but most of them seemed normal sized and shaped to me; they just weren't perfect. They came all together in a resealable plastic-lined paper bag. I like the fact that each soap didn't have packaging. I'm not too fond of the plastic though.
Tips
Soap should be cured for about 4-6 weeks. The longer you cure it, the
harder it gets and the longer it lasts. Soaps made with Castile soap or
large amounts of olive oil should cure for about 6-8 months. When I got the bag, I opened it and just left it alone for a few months.
Would I Get This Again?
Maybe. I really want to believe this is a great company, but there's not a lot of information out there. They do have a website and a Facebook page. However, I've asked about them in a couple of Facebook groups and no one has heard of them. It could be because they're new, but you just never know.
