I knew I wanted to switch from body wash to bar soap. It was more
environmentally friendly (body wash uses water, bar soaps mean less
packaging which means less waste, transport-related emissions since
there was less weight per product, etc), it's more moisturising, and no
preservatives are needed since no water is added were just a few of the
reasons why I switched.

I wanted to support a small company with a small product line. I also didn't want to end up paying a ton of money. I know there are companies out there that make gorgeous soap. They're breath-taking and they're expensive. They're just not for me right now on the budget I have. I was looking for something simple and affordable. I'm more attuned to the masculine way of thinking when it comes to somethings. I feel that women are all about something being pretty. Whereas I tend to think about function: does it work the way it's supposed to? It's soap. It's going in my shower. No one is really going to see it. Would it make me happy to see a pretty bar of soap when I open the shower door? Yes, of course. But I'd be even happier looking at an ugly bar of soap and more money in my bank account.
Their normal bar soaps are more than what I was willing to pay. I really liked their ingredients, so I clicked on their name to find out more about them. I found out they had a product that was a one pound bag of fugly soap, a mixture of banged up bars, soap ends, and chucks. They said it was 100% natural and organic soap.

Organic is always nice and so is sustainable. The fact that they use the words "therapeutic grade" to describe their essential oils turns me off since I feel like it's a marketing ploy. Be wary of essential oils with children. Peppermint and eucalyptus can be an issue. Here's so more information about using essential oils safely with children. The soap doesn't look pretty and there isn't much smell to the soap. That's fine with me. I just wanted it to work.
They came all together in a resealable plastic-lined paper bag. I like the fact that each soap didn't have packaging. I'm not too fond of the plastic though.
Right now, I'm not going to worry about it. I've got enough bar soap and body wash to last me at least 6 months, possibly more. When the time comes, I'll look into more options. If you happen to know of any good companies that sell affordable bar soap, please let me know in the comments.

While searching on Amazon I found dead sea mineral mud bars by Aspen Kay Naturals. I read the reviews, starting with the negative ones, and then I ran them through FakeSpot and ReviewMeta and they both said the reviews were reliable.I wanted to support a small company with a small product line. Ingredients
Their dead sea mud fugly soap is made from 100% pure dead sea mineral mud from Israel, organic
RSPO sustainable palm oil, organic unrefined shea nut butter, coconut
oil, organic sunflower oil, organic extra virgin olive oil, organic
castor oil, activated charcoal, therapeutic grade essential oils of
lemongrass, peppermint & eucalyptus, sodium hydroxide.Organic is always nice and so is sustainable. Price and Packaging
Their one pound bag of soap was a much better deal to me than their regular bar soap. Despite being soap ends, these are pretty decent. I got 6 bars in the bag. A couple of them were thin, but most of them seemed normal sized and shaped to me; they just weren't perfect.They came all together in a resealable plastic-lined paper bag. I like the fact that each soap didn't have packaging. I'm not too fond of the plastic though.
Tips
Soap
should be cured for about 4-6 weeks. The longer you cure it, the harder
it gets and the longer it lasts. Soaps made with Castile soap or large
amounts of olive oil should cure for about 6-8 months. When I got the bag, I opened it and just left it alone for a few months.
Would I Get This Again?
Maybe. I really want to believe this is a great company, but there's not a lot of information out there. They do have a website and a Facebook page. However, I've asked about them in a couple of Facebook groups and no one has heard of them. It could be because they're new, but you just never know. I know that everyone is different and if you'd like to try it, you can buy it here.Right now, I'm not going to worry about it.
